Amavasai is a condition where Sun and Moon are together in a Rasi. The condition will be severe when Moon gets within 10 degrees to Sun. Dosham is a condition where situation becomes unfavorable.

The negativity proposed during the Amavasai condition is that the role of negative energies, which reduce the good karagathuva attributes and enhance the bad karagathuva attributes of both Sun and the Moon.

Furthermore, it is proposed that during the Amavasai state, the athipathiya attributes of the houses represented by both the Sun and Moon will suffer.

Conditions where the effects of Amavasai Dosham will be overcome are the following:

Sun and Moon together with Guru or gets aspect from Guru.

Sun and Moon together with Venus

Sun and Moon together in Mesha Rasi where Sun is in Ucha state.

Sun and Moon together in Rishaba Rasi where Moon is in Ucha state.

Sun and Moon together in Kataka Rasi where Moon is in Aatchi state.

Sun and Moon together in Simha Rasi where Sun is in Aatchi state.

Sun and Moon together or stay separate in Dhanusu or Meenam or Thulam or Rishabam or Kani or Mithunam in Navamsam chart.
